PS High Pressure Hose - OEM vs Aftermarket

Hi there - looking to replace this hose as it is starting to leak. Noticed a big disparity in prices among various sources - $120 up to ~$250. Guessing the higher priced are original BMW and the lower priced are 3rd party aftermarket. Since this hose works a little harder than the others curious if anybody has had experience with the lower cost hoses. Replacing it once is OK but not twice.

Thanks,
VizslaDriver

You sure it's the pressure hose? the suction/return lines are usually the first to go

Hey thanks..yea it is the pressure hose. It is fairly wet and grungy. The others are OK. I ended up getting an OEM hose from one of the sponsors here at E46 Fanatics. I am going to refresh them all at this point - There were a couple other leaks and the others were a lot cheaper.

Someday I will have this car all fixed up.

Which hose did you buy? OE BMW or OEM?

Anyone know which brand is OEM?

I got the parts from getBMWparts.com - they are also known as Tischer BMW. They are OE BMW parts. There was a pressure hose at almost half the price elsewhere but I decided to play it safe. The other parts were about the same as other online stores. I could have mixed and matched to save a few bucks but the labor savings is the highest cost I suppose. They were easy to deal with and got me the right part numbers, etc.. My biggest priority is doing it right once and not fixing it later and I will pay for that somewhat.

I wont be able to put them on for a couple weeks due to job pressures but will after Christmas.

Thanks..VizslaDriver

I may try aftermarket since I have replaced with OE twice already.
