Hmmmm, can't really tell either. If so, it could be a carryover color from the E36 called Samanabeige. Its a kind of gold, yellow, tan metallic. Common for BMW to use "carryover" colors on following model years based on production dates. This would fit if the car pictured is in fact a 323.

The color looks a lot better in person, and only if the car is shiny clean. I still wouldn't trade my titanium silver metalic for anything :-)

I didn't either until I met a fellow local CCA member with a Dakar Yellow E46 vert. I could've sworn it was a repaint until he showed me the 337 DakarGelb paint code on the shocktower. Said it was 1 of 3 E46s that was painted this color from the factory and not included in the Individual program. Thats when he told me about the carryover colors. I confirmed
all this with the head parts guy over at the nearby BMW dealership.
