Exhaust Question*

Hey guys, I currently drive a 330, and recently added the UUC tse3 "Light" exhaust.

For those of you who don't know to much about this system, it is just the muffler that is added on. (Both resonators are still stock)
I'm debating whether or not to remove one of the resonators...or both? OR try to get two high flow resonators.

Now if i do any of this... is there any back pressure issues i will run into? Or is this a rumor

Sorry for the length guys, help would be much appreciated. Thanks in advanced

haha yeah i've definitely thought of that... i'd think it would be pretty hard to find someone that is parting out their system though. Thats why im trying to find an alternative

thanks for the reply

Dont worry about the back pressure its a rumor. The e46 get loud when you take out the resonators. It all depends on what you like your car to sound like.

just remove the one closest to the muffler and then leave it.

Appreciate the replies guys. I'm not sure which resonators im going to remove... If i remove the one closest to the muffler, it doesn't seem that it would make that much of a difference?

But if i remove both, it would seem like it would be way too loud...

Could someone chime in on this???

one at a time, the closest to the muffler first.

thats all you need for a clean powerful non intrusive sound.

The original TSE and rogue DMS.. had the resonator closest to the muffler first replaced with str8 pipes.

Both resonators? My muffler guy that cut mine off said the other one closest to the headers was a cat. So he only took off the one resonator closest to the muffler. My cars a 00 328Ci, did they only have one or was he LYING?! (sorry for thread jack j/w)

2 resonators, the one closest to the engine gets mistaken for a cat, but your catalytic converter is built into your headers..

You will not run into back pressure issues from removing either, or both resonators. Why do you want to remove them in the 1st place? more sound?
BTW a lot of "muffler guys" will mistake the primary res. (closest to engine) for a cat.

Get ebay headers first. Then maybe the rear resonator out. You will gain a good amount of power.

Take a look at this vid... the resonator isn't that big! What do you guys think??!

Took the car to the muffler shop today and it will be around $80 to remove

I have the same muffler. I took the second resonator off for $50. I don't think its loud enough and i've been thinking about taking off the first resonator.

dang it he says its a cat (closest to headers)... is there somewhere in the manual or something i can show this muffler guy to prove its not a cat and its a resonator? Because he wont take it out.

I could always go to someone else but idk they're pretty cheap

^I don't know how to prove it but it definitely is a resonator. Curious, do you have the same muffler as OP?

I have a tse3 light too on my 330. I was thinking of removing 1 resonator but I might get headers sooner or later. I left it on because I don't want my exhaust to be loud or raspy if I do
