Disa Valve is broken

I think i finally found the problem why my car felt so slow.
Throttle has bad sensor but as i was taking everything out to clean it and expect, i found that my Disa valve is broken.
The throttle part on disa valve is lose there inst any pin to hold it.
If someone know for fact if you take one out, in what position it's staying: open or closed. I'm going to fix it, so it will never brake.

Mine was broken also and I fixed it however it gets lose from time to time, but taking it out and tightening once every couple of months is still better than paying over $200 for it. To your question - normal position is open.

By fix do you mean removing it, fixing it to one location, or making it work again?

And I wonder what happened to that pin, it's not a trivial sized pin...sure hope it doesn't wind into your engine...

the pin is fine its on the other side its completely loose or its missing something. I think its been like that since i bought it. Throttle is loose, nothing stopping from opening and closing it, valve is good.

I've gone through two disas in the 160k I put on my old ess 330ci. I've even had a aluminum milled cap to delete this disa, but it is essential for great throttle response in low rpm setting before 4k rpm and it recommended you replace it for 250-280$ ]

With aluminum milled cap do you feel low end less power or just runes more smoother.

Hope that pin didn't find its way into the cylinder.

You'll lose a bit of low end power if you delete the DISA.

It was on when running alot of boost, but most all tuners have the disa in mind when programming..and just like the besian ring effect.. starting in 2nd gear and low rpm offs feel much better overall.

Ive ran with different setups and without it, its not a big deal especially when youre boosting..but you do however feel it work when you place a new one in ..On the dyno it shows nothing but a slight drop in power without it but the dyno doesnt show 2nd gear or low rpm pulls.. try doing what you were gonna do and delte the flap and drive around for awhile..it wont effect anything..and save up for a month or so and then switch back to a new disa..you will be happy..not happier, but happy.
