Got my new e46 original lighter !
Ony $4 on ebay plus shipping ! brand new, not even used... I am trying to get all the little things the car is missing, this was one of them ! Just thought i'de share some images !

Did you see if it worked? I bought mine off ebay too, pushed it in and it stuck there. Still is.
