How much do you pay to switch your tires?

Just wondering what most people pay to switch out their summers and winters onto the same rims? I've been quoted $80CDN locally and I really trust the shop, but was wondering if thats typical, or a good deal or not. I've read enough to know to avoid the cheaper walmart and costco shops as they're known to scratch the hell out of your rims.

Any other insights appreciated. Thanks.

Do that twice and you could have gone to this little place called craigslist and own a set of rims to fit those winter tires, and never have to swap.

Heh, knew that was going to come up. Actually I have another set of larger diameter rims for summer, but they don't have tires yet. Going forward I will be swapping summer and winter rims instead of changing the tires on a single set. Just wanted to check the cost of labor other's have experienced.

$80 sounds reasonable. when i get new tires, i generally get charged $12 for dismount and $15 for remount/balance per tire.

80CAD is a really good price - if its for four. I just switched out my old winters for my used summers. cheapest reputable place came out to be $54USD for the front two - $10 to mount/dismount and $15.50 to balance - per tire plus tax. Discount Tire qouted me $160 for all 4 and an indy shop was doing it for $30 per tire plus tax...GL!
