May 2, 2009 - Santa Barbara, CA - Santa Barbara Polo & Racquet Club

I'm sure everyone is still there, on their way back or sleeping by now. I'll kick off the pics and everyone can add theirs in this thread.

I thought the venue nice, but a bit boring compared with years past.

Three complaints are:

• $40 entry before 9AM, without ANY priority on parking
• ALL cars are ALL over the place, there is NO organization between Series and if you're looking for a particular car or model, you can wander for an hour aimlessly to no avail.
• I heard the food sucked, but I couldn't attest to that. I went to get a hot dog for $4.50 at 11:30AM and they were already out, and hocking beef sandwiches for $8.00. No thanks.

It seems as though it is turning into more of a money grubbing cult than a car meet, since all they seem to be worried about is if they can collect $20, $40, or $60 from you as you enter. If you want to leave with your car and come back, good luck getting your same spot, as someone who paid half what you paid and showed up 2 hours later has taken your spot.

It's always a fun gig with lots of beautiful cars, women and nice people to chat with. I've definitely seen better, and I hope they clean up their act for years to come.

Anyone spot my car? I saw southpaw, and a few others but didn't recognize many faces. I've had better luck with that in previous years as well.

Enough ranting, the show was great and I have pics to prove it. Hope you all had a fun time, and a safe trip home.

I loved the myonly<3 plate also

and Daytona's car right next to it

I agree they had SO much room they could have easily split up the models, but it was the first year and I'm sure they'll figure things out. Didn't really like how it was a free for all once you pulled in, no biggie though...

Yeah, that was bogus. I felt like I got ripped, but whatever. In the spirit of having a good time, ya gotta brush it off.

Do you know if there's going to be an "official" video or what the point of the film crew with the cheerleaders was?

i actualy thought this year was muccccch better than last. i had a good time. but wtf i didnt see pswirleys, aarons, or seandubs car there haha

My car was there!

This was my first bimmerfest and I really enjoyed myself. The food wasn't great that's for sure.

My only gripes:

-Food/beverages was lackluster for such a large event.
-Expected more vendors to be there....and have a good selection of popular products
-Organized areas for the different years or models would have been ideal
-Cops staking out any BMW they could pullover for minor infractions (I'm sure the people that got a ticket deserved it though.)

Things done well:

-Great turnout
-Great weather
-Ton of great cars
-Good deals to be had at the vendors on site.
