amp has built in crossovers, what to do with the focal external crossovers???

Hi all,

I just installed an a/d/s/ p840 amp. the amp has built in crossovers. the focal speakers I installed came with crossovers. Do I need the focal crossovers? pros/cons to using the focal crossovers??

Thanks for any help you can give me.

Yes, you still need the Focal's passive crossovers. The amps crossovers are likely either high/low pass filters for each set of channels, i.e. you could set only frequencies above 100 hz to be sent to the front channels. The Focal crossovers, however, are meant to crossover the individual speakers themselves, i.e. sent bass to the midwoofer and highs to the tweeters.
