Can you describe what the advantages of the "upgrade" is? I am relatively new here and, according to my mechanic, may need to replace my VANOS pretty soon.

There are seals inside the VANOS that go bad, causing the pistons to not move as they should, and your VANOS to fail. I've seen the seals go bad as early as 50k miles even.

This unit has expensive aftermarket seals that will pretty much never go bad.

So this will perform and look like a new unit.

So, the seal wear is the root cause of the 'rattling' my VANOS is emitting?

No...you need to get the Dr. VANOS version or replace one or both the timming chain tensioners!

The Dr. Vanos unit is pretty much the same unit I am selling. The rattling is from the tensioners.
