That said, I've never had to use a firearm to defend myself, but I damn well wanna know how to do it if it comes to it.
i dunno why but i always just sit and watch your sig for 5 minutes and laugh everytime that lil fker gets pummeled

Having a gun is like knowing a martial art. You have it so you don't have to use it.

I recon its better to have the choice to use it or not rather than no choice at all.

I suppose its like car insurance in a way, you dont want to be in a situation where you need it (a crash) but if you are your glad you have it.

I dont know if it saved my life, but it prevented seriously bodily injury at minimum.

I dont want to get all in it, but I have pulled my gun twice in my life.

If addition, I have had several friends beat down by a group and/or carjacked, and a friend of the family murdered at random (woman).

I cant help but think a gun would have helped prevent the overall result.

Why yes. A gun has saved my life regularly. I live near Newark, NJ see. And it's a commuter's hub for those going into NYC for work. Thanks to my gun I was able to convince many of these commuters that their valuables would do me much more good and potentially save my life. Without the gun I don't think my story of sorrow would have been as convincing.

It's saved my life on the job numerous times. I think the presence of it more than anything.

My daily concealed has since retired to a "stay-at-home" status. I always wanted it to be there when I need it or there to help someone else, but having people always stare at you or freaking out the cashier at the store when you move your blazer to go for your wallet, isn't worth it. Then you have to remember to bring it in the house every night and back out in the morning in fear that some kid might break into your car and end up with it and do something stupid. Not to mention the dick head cops that have to give you a hard time because they ran your plates and found out you have a concealed weapons permit and you didn't let him know that you DIDN'T have you gun on you and then get lectured on how you can get shot in the head true story. Everyone has there own opinion and this is just mine.

I have had to fire shots to scare a bear off. He wasn't "after" me, so I don't know if he would have "threatened my life"?

I take a gun with me everytime I go in the woods (camping, hiking, etc.....).

Yes, but not in my house.

I was travelling into a deep jungle in Papua (Indonesia) for surveying. I hired several fully-armed police to guard my travel there. They let me handle an SMG. When we arrived there, we were confronted by tribal papua people and they didn't know that we are fully armed. They aimed their crossbow towards us and when one of the polices fired a warning shot, they scattered like chicken.

In the afternoon, I use the rifle to shoot deer and we ended up having a fun barbeque night. While I slept, the police stayed alert for the whole night.

It's crazy dangerous there, I wouldn't wanna go in there without some protection.

I am in the same boat CCali. My dad and father in law want me to get a gun. An attorney in town got kidnapped by his client (his own fault for giving his client a ride in his car). So now they think I need one. I have two kids at home so it worries me to have it. I have an alarm on my house that would scare someone away if they came in. I just cant decide.

um
the only time you should use a gun to save your life is to kill the person that is threatening your life

if your life isn't threatened, you don't use a gun..... when it is threatened, you point and shoot

I hope you are joking, otherwise you have no clue what you are talking about.

If you are drawing, you better be shooting at your target.

Yep, only pull (point) your weapon if you intend to kill.

Macguyver rocks.
