Arrow Post Your Gun Safe and/or Fire Safe

I am looking for a new gun safe.

I am thinking about buying a small fire safe to put in a non fire (cheaper) gun safe.

What do you all have/like?

Post info and pics please.

Thanks!

I think you'll like this concept....although not the greatest for access. Use it in place of a box spring

interesting.

i was thinking about making a slide out drawer (even with actuators) from under the bed, but i dunno.

i am just going to mount a cctv camera to the top of the safe with a note that says smile.

I have a serious home alarm and 20 cameras now with a remote off site recorder.

I am not that concerned that they are going to steal it (500+ lbs) or be able to open it.

It will be bolted to the slab and the wall studs anyway.

Let me know what you find...I'm gonna be needing one too. Maybe we can get a discount if we buy together

What a steal...

Home Depot has this safe for $369. Must be a special purchase or something; its the only one they carry. The only other place I can find it are all in UK at $400-500UK which used to be like $800US dont know what it is now.

I have read many gun forums that all say its an outstanding value.

No, its not 20ft^3 with a glass relocker, but its better than average weighs 300lbs empty, is a brand name, is and only $369!

I figure I can drop a small fire safe in it, that will make it 100lbs heavier empty and protect ammo, passports, etc.

I am going in make a thin 3 or 4 shelf unit to divide it vertically. This will allow 4 rifles side by side and ammo and pistols in the "cubby holes"

500lbs loaded, bolted to the slab and studs, cctv camera on top, 19 other cameras, full alarm system, if they get by all that, I will file an insurance claim.

I only have 4 rifles, and did not want some monster I could not deal with.

Its a lot better than nothing and I figure I could always craigslist it for $200 when I upgrade.

I think one of my buddies got this safe. He had a problem with it though, it wouldn't open with the supplied code. It was a ***** because we already took it off the truck and we had to lift it back up there again. After he got a replacement the safe worked great for him.

That sucks.

Only problem I had is the fact that it was bolted to a pallet with round head bolts and they just kept turning. We had to put in on its back and break the pallet off then remove the bolts.

Its all bolted in fits in my closet perfectly and I only lost 16% of my linear closet clothes hanging space.

Works for me.

Good find...might have to look into one myself. All I have right now is a locker/cabinet type safe which stands about 5' tall. Great for keeping little hands away from them, but I can pick it up and run with it no problem

Seriously, its a great value.

No, it cant handle a plasma cutter or anything, but it doesnt wobble.

It is 300lbs, add 100 lbs of stuff and bolt it in and it will atleast slow them down quite a bit.

Who can deal with that with an alarm going off?
