Angry Can I go just 1 week without.....

The bulb out indicator on the instument panel go off.... its getting annoying

did a search and found this link for the tail lights.... http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthr...light=bulb+out so i will try this for the brake light when it comes back on.

But front turn signals are doing this now....Sometimes its the left, somtimes the right, and sometimes both.... is there something I need to look at? I wont be visiting the Stealership for this, I do all my work on my cars, so any suggestions on where to look would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

The front corners and the rear taillights are two separate problems, though they often occur coincidentally.

For the fronts, the bulb socket is susceptible to corrosion. Take out the bulbs and inspect the socket, and R&R as necessary: clean off any corrosion, bend/tighten the contacts, or just replace the socket (inexpensive part). You may also need to replace the bulbs, if the contacts are damaged or melted due to arcing or excessive heat.

For the rears, the problem is inadequate grounding at the wiring harness, which sometimes leads to excessive heat and melting of the wiring harness. I'm not a big fan of the twisted-wire-and-electrical-tape fix, especially considering that BMW has released a TSB with a proper fix:

For the rear, check out post #5 in the link you posted. Works perfectly, costs $.05!!
