Who's the best squatter

A power lifter, strong man, weight lifter, and bodybuilder all do 5min amrap of body weight back squats.

The out come is pretty interesting. I think you'll see why at the end.

where was that? looks like the warehouse of a small company.

well, it's one data point with four different people at different weights. it would have been a better representation had all types been of similar body weight.

can you explain the differences in each type of lifter and how their training differs?

Judging the "best squatter" by one standard is kind of stupid. Why would the amount of squats at your body weight make you the "best"?

Not surprised. I would love to see an ATG contest between the winners

I was suprised. You have two winners who specialization is heavy 1 rep sets. It's cool to see that there is a lot of carry over.

Yeah, but what is a body weight squat for a weightlifting or a powerlifter? Those guys probably rep it in their sleep to wake up.

The weightlifter seemed to have the best form, although difficult to tell from the vid.

This makes me sad... My knee has been shot for a few weeks now. I somehow tweaked it while shoveling snow. Not only have I not been able to squat heavy since, I can't even hit depth. It's driving me crazy

A few things.....

....What's the difference between a 'weight lifter' and a 'body builder'? To me, those two terms are equally synonymous. Also, that PowerLifter has some serious muscle imbalances and his form sucks; the Weight Lifter had the best form of the group, despite fatigue. The Weight Lifter also has the best physique. Fun video though!

I wonder how many reps I could do in 5 minutes at my 192 lb. body weight. Hmmmmm!???

just resting it or do you want to get it checked out?

When I went to a sports medicine place to get my groin checked out last year they told me not to squat deep. I obviously ignored them but it seems like even they are on the shallow squat bandwagon. Not sure why.

..but then, wouldn't that be the Power Lifter? Ehhhh, now that I think about it, I suppose the PL and the OL are a bit different.
