hmm interesting. to be honest I've gone home after deadlifting to cook and had my hands in scalding water without even noticing, so I'm sure I will make it through some slight stinging

found some at a mountain climbing chain store close to my work. I've been so strength focused that I completely forgot I grew up rock climbing, and have plenty of experience using chalk for that purpose. Which reminds me, I need to get back into doing that recreationally!

Chest workout today. Set a PR with proper bench form, and went up 5 lbs for all sets. Also hit 8/8/8 with 60 DBs. Great day

Bench Press

175 x 5
160 x 6
150 x 7
140 x 8

Incline DB

60's x 8
60's x 8
60's x 8

Pushups

35 total

And for some pics... I'm using these for comparison purposes in 2 months time, as I don't think my physique has changed much (but my strength sure has!)

Hoping to have very noticeable change!

You got a bit leaner and your arms are bigger. Keep up the good work. You should take pics of your back too.

Man you have no hair naturally or do you wax/shave?

Look at those sexy little nipples. lol

Haha yes, I'm have very minimal hair... Genetics, runs in family. Barely have to shave as well at 24, but that will get better shortly. I'm also going grey lol, lucky me.

Don't listen to your gf.

No worries, I went grey when I was your age. I have grey hairs on side of my head and my chin. Babes like the salt and pepper look especially if the guy is in shape, drives an M3, and makes good money. lol

You can definitely see the change in your midsection. Pictures are a wonderful thing because you can really track how far you've come. Good job!

^Hard to miss the improvement around the mid section. You should start seeing the first 4 of the 6 packs very soon

Thanks, and now that it has been mentioned I do see the improvement in arms. Which I find funny because I haven't done a single curl or any direct arm work since november.

thanks, yeah it really helps for comparison purposes. I'm hoping to have one of those "collages" you see... I just wish I had started this a long time ago.

Not the best workout, numbers below last week.

Good thing I keep logs... I ate a large beef and rice bowl last Friday for lunch, 90g of rice carbs.

Today I only had 36g of spaghetti squash carbs.

I think that's the reason, so ill be eating more carbs pre workout next week to test.

On the plus side, liquid chalk is the ****.

Deadlift
135x5
185x4
225x3
275x2
315x2
315x1
225x10

If I still struggle next week I'm switching back to glights deadlift scheme he gave me, I liked it.

Overhead press
125x3
115x5
105x6

Chin-ups
8
7
6

Bent over barbell row
135x8
135x8
135x8

Definitely carbs issue unless you loss a LOT of weight since last week. Not only that, but pre workout carbs has to be high GI, and I'm not sure spaghetti and squash counts as high GI. Probably not. Just go with a Snickers bar next time. Still a decent workout IMO while cutting.

haven't been to the gym this week, scratched my cornea with a contact on sunday and it is just getting better today... been sensitive to light, essentially crying all day (including having to blow my nose lol).

With that plus the NHL Playoffs starting I haven't been motivated, my eating has still been decent but not the best... had a couple beers the last two nights watching hockey.

Making sure I go today, going to do squats / bench / romanian deadlifts. Either tomorrow or saturday I will do deadlift / overhead press / chinups / barbell rows... cutting out incline db's / pushups / calf raises since I missed a day... first time I've missed a workout in 2 months

I also have a new goal:

Look as awesome as possible for June 15th. I signed up with a buddy and some chicks for a 10K run for below the waist cancers called "The Underwear Affair". Essentially you can either do a 10K run or a 5K walk, and you wear next to nothing (I think my "costume" will be a headband and euro shorts lol) so I need to be as cut as possible. At the finish line is a huge beer gardens / DJ area etc... and it is my birthday weekend.

Solid goal I think!
