ok? audi r8 isnt a straight line dragster (nor the m3)... audi r8 is really a hot car, so much better looking than anything bmw has to offer ...

if you buy the car just for drag racing, just buy a turbo stripped out civic and put some drag slicks on...

audi r8 is just a better car

BMW has made a few supercars...I wish they would just keep it up

Think about how badass the M1 was in its day. Then the 850CSi- so hot. Time for another M1

If that was the concept the real production vehicle would look amazing if this was from BMW. Like all concepts a little over the top but extremely sexy, this blows the new M1 concept out of the water.

I don't see much resemblance there at all, if any. Where do you see similarities? Not doubting ya, I just don't see it.

Idk i think it looks sick but it doesn't scream M power.

It still needs some work. Way better then the new m1 prototype

The r8 has a sleeper appeal to it aswell.

BMW needs to design their supercar, make it super sexy with an M heart, and then get it in the next Iron Man movie. Take that R8

There won't be an R8 equivalent model from BMW for at least 5 years. BMW doesn't follow, BMW creates and sets standards. The next best thing you can hope will be the new 6 series, although not a supercar but it will be quite unique and exciting.

I agree to an extent. The M3 was king till then renn sport 4 came out. Audi pushed the bar creating a 400+ hp beast. BMW went from a line of only N/A engines. To a turbocharged 400+ hp beast just like the audi's.

I think we have yet to see a super car from bmw but when it comes out itll be ridiculous.
Or BMW might have sold out although the M division doesn't disappoint. Thank god they have a separate division.

The M division sold out long ago, when they created crap like the M6, and now they'll be doing an M SUV, the ULTIMATE sell-out. Oh well, at least they keep doing good work on the M3/M5, so there's some hope left.

I respectfully disagree. If they do it right, who cares whether it's naturally aspirated or not? I sure won't. An M3 to me is about balance, suspension, and decent power. Hell, I can see a bright side: for once, the M3 might actually be decent on gas with a turbo. Everyone used to brag about how "efficient" the E46 M3 engine was, and that would always make me laugh. Yeah sure, 111HP/litre, big deal. That sort of efficiency is nothing more than nerdy engineer bragging rights. I want efficiency that costs me less damn money at the pump. Screw the engineers and their bragging rights.

Turbo FTW. Smaller displacement, direct injection, forced induction, greater power and economy, easier tuning, whats not to love?

And there is no way to beat around the bush, FI is replacing NA. Period. The next M5 will be V8tt. The next M3 will be a forced induction I6.

I for one, welcome the shift.
