line out converter question??

Can I splice into the wires from my rear deck speakers directly to a line out converter? How do I access the rear speakers if this is possible?

I have tried the BSW method of tapping into the rear amp, but its bieng a pain to do so...

tried man, and it was a pain to get into the space there.... but I did tap them and still no sound in the sub. Double checked allwires (power, ground, remote...) so that seems to be the issue. I would like to just tap into the rear speakers like I have on past cars

To answer the question about the rear speakers, to get them out you just carefully pry out the cover, then there will be 3 exposed bolts (either 8 or 10 mm can't remember). You take those out and the speaker will come up, make sure to disconnect its connector plug to completely remove them.

That having been answered, the reason people were trying to get at that you should not connect to the rear speakers for your sub signal in this car is because that signal has already been run through the BMW amp, and thus, it has been crossed over by the internal amp parts. This means it likely is bandpassed to some degree, i.e. only signal from 50 hz to 2 khz are getting through for instance. Its better to get the pre-amp signal because it is full range.
