Tim330i upgrades to ///M Power
I've been looking off and on for a 2003-2005 E46 M3 in the New England area and finally found one and made it mine. A great member of the site was parting (rather sadly I might add) with his 2003 Titanium Silver M3 and despite several set backs we were able to make a deal and the car has been my daily driver for the past couple weeks!I started casually looking when M3 prices were driven down by the release of the E9x M3 and the harsh economic conditions. I was checking the classifieds off and on and when I came across this great deal I knew it was what I wanted. The only thing I would change is the color. Titanium silver was my second choice to alpine white (The best color :-p) but the options, location, seller and pricing made this the car for me. The seller and I had a time set to meet up and look at the car. I had it in my mind that if the car was as I expected I would buy it. Right before heading out to see the car another eager buyer bought it on the spot. It was a shock as I had gotten rather excited and was only hours too late! However the buyer wasn't able to complete the deal so I had another shot at the car and I took it. In a flurry of PMs we setup a time to look at the car, it was just as I expected and we made a deal making the car all mine ![]() I had told myself I was just going to drive the M3 stock for a while. I've been modding my 330i on and off for 8 years and while I love all my mods I wanted to experience the M3 stock and then enjoy adding mods one at a time just like I did with my 330, at least that was the plan. That was the plan until the car needed a few mechanical and maintenance issues taken care of. Despite having no intention of modifying the car right away if it was going to be taken apart why would I want the stock parts put back on, right? I can see Fanatics everywhere nodding with me ![]() So hardly owning the car I made a call to UUC Motorwerks. I had only intended to get their legendary Evo III short shifter, and a light weight flywheel and clutch combo. Of course when Arjun started talking about the exhaust and how great it was I wasn't able to say no. My "quick order" from UUC for a few things turns into -
The maintenance/mechanical issues, a huge list of UUC products and a brand new set of Nitto NT05s were taken care of by the great guys at Bavarian Performance Group - http://bavarianperformancegroup.com. They worked with me to get everything done that I wanted on a somewhat odd schedule (my fault). Their service and work has been great and with a location just north of Boston (Winchester) their are convenient as well. I really can't say enough about this place. I've used them in the past and will continue using them in the future! So now I'm driving my not so stock M3 and loving it! I don't know how I thought I was going to drive a stock car Once I have a few more miles on my new beast look for reviews on the following -Nitto NT05 - Nitto's most aggressive non-competition street tire ![]() More info -> http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=648143 UUC Corsa RSC Exhaust - A full cat back full exhaust with Rasp-X rasp eliminator. ![]() More info -> http://www.nexternal.com/uuc/Product683 UUC Lightweight Flywheel and "sprung hub" clutch - Increase performance and better clutch feel ![]() More info -> http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/flywheel/LFWE46M3SH.htm Writing this story has made me want to go for a drive and I think I will! Stay tuned to E46Fanatics.com for more information about my M3, mods, DIYs, track day review and anything else I can think of! I'm off for a drive, Tim |
