First BMW--330ci

I just purchased my first BMW and I absolutely love it. It is a 2002 330ci with the sport package and 5 speed manual tranny and about 92,000 miles on the clock (I had a local inspection company do a very thorough inspection and they said it is in great shape). I have been searching all summer for a car and I'm so happy to finally have it. I'm in the process of doing some routine maintenance (oil change, spark plugs, bleeding the brake fluid, radiator flush, and belts) and I replaced the thermostat because an OBDII scan gave a code for a faulty thermostat. Besides that in the near future I am going to replace the control arm bushings and I believe the oil level sensor is faulty so that's on the list as well when I do my next oil change. I'm also getting ready to install the Dice ipod kit which I'm looking forward to. Anyways, I'm stoked to be a part of the BMW community and this forum has already been a valuable asset in my DIY projects so thanks! More pics soon to come.

Hey and welcome!

Bought my black '02 330ci with 92,000 miles on it too...crazy

When you're going in to replace your control arm bushings, make sure to check out your control arms as well (the ball joints built into them tend to fail as often as the FCABs and tend to create the same kind of problems). It's not too bad of a DIY to do, and can save a lot of pain and agony if you're under the car doing the bushings anyway.

Congrats on the car!

My Ride: 01 330CI 5-speed
Welcome, I bought a 330ci back in July. I have had a good time working on this car. Control arms, control arm bushings, sway links, clutch, rotors and rear pads. Sounds like alot but none of it was that hard. I take that back the clutch was a two man job. You can save many $ by DIY. PM me if you have any questions.
