same update my car was misfiring at idle , this was due to the fuel injectors. Any one doing the swap make sure to get 330 injectors, they r the purple ones . 323,325,328 r black. After swapping them out no more misfire

I don't think injectors were the issue, unless you were running at 100% duty cycle (again which doubt) more than likely, the AA tune has you running leaner for a bit more power, and as a result of more airflow with the manifold swap, you are leaning out a bit to much..

The 330 injectors are bigger, but they don't match up with your tune, meaning they are going to just dump in fuel.

Great write up, good to see there are a few people working on this. I was following the other thread that died off and just found this one. Just ordered an m54b25 intake manifold and DISA, and received my throttle body adapter yesterday.

Would this be worth having a shop do, and would it take them less time (3-4 hours maybe)? I'm having my exhaust done and ebay headers put in soon and was thinking of just having these parts put in at the same time. I've done some DIY work, but this looks like it may be over my head.

Iceman00, I got your PM, thanks for the response. Sorry for not getting back to you, got busy at work and haven't really be on the forum until recently. Hope your swap is going well.

pei330ci, you talked about some built engines and cams. Any ideas on what cam profiles may work well here? And what type of mods are in the 'built' engines...cams, headers, custom tune? With the new manifold I was thinking cams would probably help a lot, but the info on the other page about the b30 vs b25 manifolds made me wonder which one would be best if cams were in the future?

I have all the parts I need, I just waiting for the time. It seems like a straight forward swap, so I'm going to pick a day, and go to town. But my car has some other issue that need attention (low rpm stumble, soft low end = vanos seals?) (rear end vibration and grating sound at high rpm WOT = cracked Guibo?)

I know what you mean. I just did my valve cover and vanos, then the intake cam sensor went, then the exhaust sensor went (sounds kinda like a diesel). When you do your vanos you may want to have a code reader handy for a while, my codes popped up one at a time right after each other. When I fixed one the next would come up.

rmank the swap is simple. The same way you take it out , you put it in. The throttle body is really the only thing you have to mess with. Try to replace all the vacuum hose possible while ur at it because they crank and ur just going to waste time.

I was reading it over in the Bentley manual and wasn't too sure about disconnecting the fuel lines. They explain it as part of the engine removal so it seems a bit complicated. Is it possible to remove the manifold by disconnecting everything and moving it aside to pull out the manifold? I haven't received my new manifold yet so I'm still working on visualizing where everything will go and fit. I'll def be sure to get new vacuum hoses, should help speed up the install.
