Anyone own a shop vac?

I am looking to purchase one and was looking for recommendations. I was just gonna go with the highest rated on Amazon:

I have a rigid now. Before I had a craftsman. Both did their job very well, and still do. The one you posted seems nice as well. Love the on/off switch on the handle itself. IMHO, they are all the same. Just a plastic bin, a cheap paper filter, and a simple powerful vacuum motor. There isn't much to them. Buy whatever vac fits your needs. I would buy the one in the vid, seems convenient.

in before "Here's my $10,000 shop vac set that is really no more than a bucket with a vacuum top. This one means you have a penis, all others mean 12 year old girls routinely beat you up and take your lunch money."

A shop vac is awesome if you have nice carpet and don't like stains... when we first moved into our old house (brand new house), we had some people over and a glass of red wine got spilled.

We had zero cleaning supplies, but thinking quickly, I grabbed the shop vac and a glass of hot water. I poured the water on the stain and then almost simultaneously sucked the water and stain up in the shop vac. After about 5 minutes, the stain was totally gone and never came back. Our carpet was almost white, btw.

Shop vacs are great... you can get anything out of a carpet for good as long as you get it before it sets.

Although it works, I wouldn't use a shop vac for home use.

A shop vac... a shop vac. Shyeah, Right! I don't even own A shop, let alone many vacs that would necessitate an entire shop. What am I gonna do... with a shop vac?

Thats because, at least in the past, Ridgid was made by Craftsman.

I use mine inside and outside the house all the time. You just need to put one of these in it first.

I recommend Shop-Vac. Bought it from Lowes years ago. Works flawlessly.

This surprises me, it seems that everything I handle from Lowe's is very low quality compared to local stores around here, and they never last as long.
