Nope! In fact, suppressors aren't illegal in most states. The AR and the HK both have the ability to accept a can and will be doing so soon

Is there a certain level of Db's or are all suppressors legal?

As far as I know, there aren't any restrictions like that. The quieter they can be made, the better and they can be sold. It all really depends on the caliber obviously...nothing will ever be totally silent

Why does everyone think suppressors are illegal? I was just explaining to someone the other day they are perfectly legal. However, to get one you have to fill out a good amount of paperwork and pay a $200-300 tax on whatever suppressor you buy.

Just got one of these yesterday as a gift. I traded the M&P 40 for my 6MT, so I got something a little smaller to fit in my purse.
