I like this post, makes me feel better for having 108k in 09 when i got it with 7 whole miles in 03... still running strong in every aspect, clutch lasted till like 90kish? something went wrong with my gearbox/shifter like 8 months ago when i went to put it into reverse, and the gear went beyond the stopping point in the gear slot thing by like 2 mm.. felt like i was stirring a bowl of spaghetti for a day when i tried to shift to 2nd or 3rd, thank god i still had warranty at that point but ya glad to see that our cars are def made to last, thanks bmw!

I have an '04 6MT with 92k on the clock and so far the only thing I had replaced was a faulty control arm under warranty. Other than that, no issues...car still runs as if it were new...awesome

89k on my 03 smg II still running strong with stock parts, if worse comes to worse and it doesn't break down before 100k, thats when my warranty ends, ill convert my car strictly to manual and sell my smg parts $$$ and go from there.

how do you know whether you have SMG II or not? Mine has no SMG symbol on the dome....
