What tint do you have on your Beamer
I think they shouldn't have anything less than 5 grade, when I first got my e46 I put 5 grade on it! i think its a must but police think otherwise because it now has a sticker!

If you mean 5% that's way too dark, stupid and gets cop attention. I have 35% and it's perfect and pretty sure that's the darkest legal tint.

i just did my car today! went with 20%..not too dark, not too light..might have wanted it a tad darker actually. But then again, from the outside it looks dark since my interior is black

I did 35%, because it's legal.

I went for the the 30% or 35% 3M film on the sides (maximum legal) and a level or two darker for the rear window (coupe). Although the rear film looks considerably darker 'on the roll' i'ts not noticeable on the car.
I bought pre-cut film from the USA. After viewing the on-line DIY's I decided to have an expert do it. - He confirmed the film was 3M and seemed mildly surprised, apparently there is scamming in the window film business. He could have supplied similar quality generic film for the same price so. He did an excellent job in about 3 hours so if you are in WA... Points to note:- Tinting is well worth doing. Not all films are equal. My factory glass has approximately 10% tint so combined with maximum legal film takes you over the limit. The pre-cut film was exactly right. Never clean the inside of the windows (the tint film) with ammonia based cleaners - it clouds the film over time. I'm considering clear film for the windscreen. |
