Repairable write off

Hi All,

Recently picked up an 03 325CI repairable write off. Im curious if anyone else has gone down this pass and what their experiences were with the relevant authorities? This will be Regency Park for me as Im based in Adelaide.

I think it cost me about $400 in Vic to have the VIV Inspection.
Ensure your repairs are done correctly.

From VIC Roads:

"VicRoads may accept an interstate written-off vehicle inspection. However, it reserves the right to require a vehicle entered on the Written off Vehicle Register (WOVR), including specific interstate vehicles classified as inspected write-offs, to undergo a VIV inspection to ensure that the vehicle is correctly identified and repaired appropriately. To find out whether a vehicle is required to undergo a VIV inspection, please call VicRoads on 13 11 71."

I have spoken with Regency, everything seemed fair and reasonable, apart from the BMW dealership airbag inspection. When I spoke with the service manager they said it would take about 3 hours at $230 per hour if I remove all the inspection covers, centre console etc. If not would take up to 7 hours at $230 per hour.

The funny thing is that the vehicle still needs the passenger side airbag recall completed and when I asked can we do the two together and maybe save some money and time for everyone I was met with a definite NO!

You are not bound by the BMW dealership, find another place.
Stealerships will be Stealerships.

Then get your airbag recall at the Stealership, does not cost anything.

Maybe I will call Regency again, they told me that they will not accept anything other than from a dealer. I also called a few crash repair shops and they stated the same.
