Cool, thank you Steve.

I was told, or read, that it was wise to unplug the iPod. But believe me, I trust your opinion!

Come to think of it, I do remember saying the charge cuts off after on hour when the car is turned off. Now it's all making sense to me.

Thank you again.

I am happy to hear that the install went well. I am sorry to omit reminding you to pull power. The Trunk CD connector is actuall powered via fuse 41, so if you pull both radio fuses (7 & 41) you are isolated for the install.

I should also make the note that twice now after my wife has had my car & has been listenning to the radio, I have had the message NO MAGAZINE displayed on the HU when I hit the MODE button to select the USA-Spec. Removing fuse 41 corrected the behaviour both times. I have not yet figured out what the formula is to get it into this mode.

How are the USA-Spec & the Sirius working together?

Hi, I wasn't able to find a Canadian supplier but that was almost a year ago. I contacted USA Spec directly back then & they said they didn't have one.

I bought mine @ audiosavings.com in April of 2009.

They have an ebay store but also a separate website. At that time it was $124.99 - I think its $5 more now.

I just checked my receipts. They charged me $17.48 shipping & dhl charged me another $27 brokerage & tax.

Re: DSP or no DSP

As I understand it, if you have an e46, meaning a 3 series from 99-05 with a stock radio, with or without amp and/or HK sound, you will not have a DSP.

For peace of mind, you can pull your radio & confirm. If the connector looks like the Business CD in delmarcos post, then it does not have DSP.

I just checked the audiosaving.com site & they don't have the non-dsp version and it states that it's for all e46's. Now I'm confused. I think I will call them Monday for clarification.

I wish it would show the album title instead of the "P05-23" info.

Nice device though. Better than DICE for sure.

Just though I would bump this back up the list. I see a lot of people ordering Dice modules & I feel very sorry for them.

I have had the USA-Spec PA12-BMW installed for a year as of next month & I love it.

I am soooo happy I didn't waste time with the THIRD Dice module that they sent me!!!

Just installed the USA Spec unit and couldn't be happier so far. Got mine for approx $115 on Amazon.

You know the more I think about that...I actually like that feature of P05-23 to tell you where you are.

Our Benz's iPod integration says the track title/artist and playlist and that can be confusing to navigate if you have a lot of playlists or have a lot of songs on few playlists to navigate.

The numbers sort of work like cartesian coordinates on a graph. So you always know where you are in the iPod.

Stereo with Nav

I have 2002 m3 with HK and NAV, can someone please chime in and tell me if i can go with USA Spec. I just checked their website and it states that there are no solutions.

Are there any other kits for Iphone with Nav units beside USA Spec ?

Thanks

I don't believe the USA Spec will work with Nav. The best solution for you would be the Intravee II, it has the best Nav integration.

It's disappointing to see so many forum vendors pushing this garbage.

Yup

it's a complete cop out to say that just because there are more dice owners = more complaints

we are all BMW owners with issues and we praise our heavily depreciated cars!

It seems customers indeed have a preference for sound quality, ease of use, sleek and simple interface over playlists and catergorizing song play back in their car. The Sponsors need to LISTEN to what the people WANT and start pushing this product either over the Dice or alongside the DIce!

Steve325i has been saying it. I have been saying it....
