I did confirm that the control arm failed. Even the dealership was shocked that they went bad with low miles... They showed me the parts after being removed. I got my car back... it feels like a new car...

Thank you

Old thread, but I just want to post this for others to know: The ball joint on my right front ZHP control arm finally developed excessive play at 109k miles. The left one is still within the allowance of PA inspections, but I'm sure that can use replacing too. I've ordered a new set of arms and bushings from Tischer, and plan to install them sometime next week

I've never actually seen anyone post the mileage at which their ZHP arms wore out (if they ever did) so I thought I'd post this.

I just replaced worn out stock lower control arm bushings on my girlfriends 325i. She was experiencing clunking noise when going over bumps and light steering wheel shaking at around 40 mph. We got the Meyle HD bushings for replacement. I finished it yesterday and clunking noise is obviously gone but now shaking at higher speeds, e.g. above 50 mph is crazy! It actually shakes more then before replacing busted bushings! From reading these comments I'm leaning towards statement that these Meyle bushings must be too hard or sth. What do you guys think?

Would the Meyle HD control arm fit?

Should I just order the OEM ZHP control arms instead?

Thank you in advance!

Joe@ecstuning, how do ZHP control arms compare to the Meyle HD arms? Specifically the balljoints. Are they the same size/material/stiffness? Please give us your honest opinion. If cost were not an object, which would you put on your own personal car? Thanks.
