I may have sourced one. If so, I'll have this thing ground out and mocked up. I should be able to get a drawing going next week for the spacer. If your guy doesn't hook you up, would you want to buy one from Stett? I can probably get them cheaper if we get a few made.

I'm waiting to hear back from the guy who sent it. I want to make sure it's cool for me to share. If so, I'll do a nice writeup on the whole thing.

Okay, so after some new info. I decided to mock up the differential, just to get a better understanding of what is going on.

Some things i found out were that, like stated earlier, the lsd unit is shorter than the open. So without the output shafts in the unit, there is left & right play because the bearings & the race(i think that is what it is called) don't hold the differential in one place anymore. it's about a good 1/4" of left/right play. When I put the output shafts in there isn't any left to right play. There is however some play between the input shaft and the ring gear. I don't know if it's because i put the wrong ring gear on it or it just isn't aligned correctly.

Also, It's been so long since i pulled apart the diff, i don't remember if the output shafts are supposed to lock in position when it's fully in. Can anybody help answer me this?

I believe the guy who i originally heard who had done this actually just reassembled it like this, and is currently still driving around like this. I do know though, after talking with Brady & my other friend that this is not the correct way of doing it.

Here are the pictures of the mocked up differential

Note how much the bearings are showing on either side.

p/s, doesn't it just look so sexy? lol

subscribed, really interested in the outcome of this. LSD would make the car near perfect for me, but I definitely don't wanna pay 1/2 the cars value in getting one.

I'm waiting on some info from my source, and there isn't really much else to do. I just need to shim out the diff, which is definitely going to be difficult.

And i think Aggie is trying to pick up a lsd right now.
