S85 powered e46

I guess this is a bit of an introduction and a build thread all in one.

I'm Alex, I'm turning 21 this year, live in Brisbane Australia and also owned bmw's so far in my life. Currently driving an e53 x5 as a daily and building a 46 m3 replica.

Previously I have built the following:
My first car I built:
http://www.downshiftaus.com/2011/e30x1jz/

My latest which I sold in January to fund the current car:
http://chezwattsphotography.com/2013...elon-at-large/

So this is where it leaves me here.
So I bought a e46 coupe rolling and got to work straight away

Got it fairly bare quickly

Also picked up a pair of 2 month old SLK55 AMG 2 piece rotors for our Benz dealership at work. 340mmx32mm should be great

Bought rear quarter cuts from a flooded m3,

Bought new front guards.

Bought a csl boot lip from the states

Removed boot floor for fuel system

Bought omp boss kit and m3 mirrors

Z33(350z) brembos turned up, two pairs of rears for a hydraulic hand brake.

Picked up nissan s15 front coilovers and r32 front coilovers for the rear

This is where I'm at. I have removed all the soundeadening and starting to get ready for a cage. Mounted the front coilovers on the weekend and looking into the rear. I have a lot of work ahead of me but its going to be worth it. Oh I'm still using the motor, fuel system and motec and dash from the e36.

Ill update it as I get a chance, however I work 6 10hr days and its a busy life!

That would be great although I'm not the only one that would like to see it.
Cheers
Terrific build stories mate, congratulations to you and your not so old man.

Pretty sure I've seen your E36 out at QR a couple of times. Absolute weapon if it's the one I'm thinking of!

Only purple e36 with a Ls I believe.

Honestly I hated the shape and the look, I drove it 3 times and knew I needed something to fall in love with again.

Wow. This will be awesome!

Love how you are using a frankenstein of parts, and not just BMW specific stuff.

To be honest, at first I thought "what is this guy doing?! " but after looking at your E30 and E36 I can't wait to see the finished product!

Hats off to you and your dad for building some of the nicest custom BMWs I've seen

I will say with rego, it's a who you know kinder thing in qld.

About 2 months ago there was a x6 m sport with the twin turbo v8 in it for $10000 as a stat write off.
I was doing everything I could to sell my motor and box to buy that.

I sold the e36 as a rolling shell to a mate of mine who is now driving it.

Just had a phone call of a m3 bare shell local for sale! Will certainly have to look into that!
