OEM Replacement Parts - Where to buy??

Hey guys

Where would you go?
I tend to stay away from the main dealerships ..as I think they would bend you over.
I have previously tried a couple of places in the Collingwood area..but it's been a while.
Looking for a pair of number plate lights and a plastic surround for the front headrest slot.

Bob, maybe you should check ur facts before posting. Pelican stock factory BMW parts although if you order those you've got rocks in ur head. Pelican also stock parts made by the OEM suppliers to BMW for a fraction of the price and generally come with a better warranty on the part. Tischer will no longer send parts outside of the US as of last Thursday.

Anybody who buys their parts from BMW Aus is being robbed blind (as I've said b4 it's not the dealers it's BMW Aus) and all it means is u've got alot more money than sense.

Yes you are correct about pelican I will ammend my post then.

Badman, I dont tell people how to spend their money I just told them where to get the parts from.

I do have ways of getting around the Tischer problem

I know the way round Tischers issues too Bob and the shipping ends up cheaper too. Pelican are cheaper 90% of the time and stock items that Tischer have a delay on.

Chicken, keep buying from Pelican, unfortunately our dealerships just cannot compete on price.

I do understand your point in my case a lot of the parts I want are not manufactured by aftermarket suppliers so I have to go BMW or have them custom made. So I dont have a choice and because I have a relationship with BMW in Australia and some dealerships in perticular I get very good pricing. I know that is a novel idea to some of the members on here but it works for me.

You're certainly the exception to the rule though Bob. The list of parts I needed to order for my car that I had shipped from the US (including shipping) was a good deal less than half of the price I could source the parts from here.

I've also found that Turners in the US are very good for performance parts and if you get in contact with Doug he will steer you in the right direction and look after with prices and shipping.

I don't think BMW allows it anymore. However, you can still ship from tischer by using an international forwarding company like bongous. I think they have better shipping rates as they ship in bulk or something.
Refer to this thread.

Usually buy OEM parts from Pelican Parts in the US, most parts cost a third of what local dealers charge here and they have the best on-line ordering and tracking info that I've come across, I highly recommend them.

I have a rather rare BMW and a lot of the parts for it are not available from suppliers as aftermarket parts, so I do have to go OEM.

And I do preffer to use OEM parts on my cars. To each their own I guess.

What? even from T.wak?

I do have access to buying o/s (US and Japan) and getting it shipped here somehow cheaply.
I have been doing that for my other cars (turbos, wheels, etc ) for a while now.
Also have some relationships with BMW via trade/corporate

I am only needing a couple of rear registration light covers and a plastic surround for the headrest asap so thought I might just go out and buy it..rather than waiting..
