Sorry about your lost. If you decide to stay in an E46 let me know. I have a friend selling a really nice low mileage 01 with a VF supercharger. He is located in Texas too. Good luck.

I just got back from Metropolitan Collision. Andy seems to think the car will not be totaled. He gave me the number of a guy who can determine the depreciated value and have the insurance company send me a check for that amount. I have no idea what to think. I guess I just have to roll with the punches and consider my options...

If it is totaled
1. Buy 2006 e46 M3 competition and transfer mods
2. Buy 2009 e92 M3 DCT JB/gray extended leather

If it is not totaled
1. Cry
2. Keep it, take the depreciated value check and make an amazing track car

Either way, something good will come out of all this, it better!
Any other suggestions?

A friend of mine crashed. My m just about the same, as yours. I also had progressive. They gave me the option to total. I chose to get it fixed. Total cost was over 14k.You have to decide. But in my experience i would total it.Due to you will allways know what happened.

That is actually real helpful info. Could you tell me more? I did the math based off kbb's value and it would need to be around $15K to total the car. My engine seems to be fine aside from the fan, radiator, and air intake (maybe some electrical) so at this point I do not think it is actually totaled. In your experience, having not totaled the car, has it caused any problems? What about money. What options do I have? With which option do you think I would walk away with the most cash?

That def. does not look totaled, remove that hood and the damage isn't as half as bad as it looks in those pics.
Might need a bit of frame time etc.. But with OEM parts, and a good tech the M has alot of life in her.
I've seen worse in our shop...

Man sorry to see that happen to any M. Glad to see that your ok. Metropolitan Collision does good work. I have dealt with Andy before. His secretary Jennifer is a hottie . They did a good job on my Porsche when I got slammed by an SUV. The only bad thing about them is that they do take their time. It took them 6 months to fix mine and the damage did not look as bad as the damage done to your M. Hopefully they will total it but I doubt they will. Should of run it into a pole a couple of times before you took it down there. Good Luck. Hope it all works out.

It depends on the year and mileage of your vehicle. It's a big hit, but it looks high, so probably no frame rail damage. It looks like only the drivers bag blew, so that's not too bad. I've seen much worse that weren't totaled, it depends on the value of your vehicle.

That car is not totalled. $10K in damage best....Doesnt even look like the frame was affected. Mostly cosmetic. Let us know what they say....

dude, my heart breaks for you this is saddening

i know in Vancouver they wouldn't have written it off, the cars here literally need to be pancakes before ICBC writes them off.

I hope your search for a new car goes well
