Yes, I think hitting the lock button twice disables the motion sensor located in the trunk. That way you can lock the car and the alarm won't go off while you are on the ferry.

Push button ONCE car doors lock, push the button TWICE The alarm is now activated......thats how mine works

nope hit once it locks and activates like normal hit it 2 times quick and the interior motion sensor and tilt sensor in the trunk are deactivated.....another way to do it is to (yes it sounds dumb but you asked) get out of the car with the key in on position as in close the drivers door and get out close the door and go to the passenger side and take out the key and lock the car it will lock the doors but no alarm........i know this because i did it on accident.
