can a MP3 cd changer work with stock deck ?

I just did the install in my 2003 330i w/NAV, but it is not working...
I know it works for 99-02 3ers...So i believe I either have a bad M-Bus adapter or else it isnt compatible with the new '03 models with DVD NAV?!?!? If anyone can shed some light, that would be great...TIA

I did a bit of browsing:
do you have the following ?
soundgate abmw35v5 adapter ($100 from www.logjamelectronics.com)
alpine mbus-ainet adapter ($15 from www.logjamelectronics.com)

and did you change the cd changer to the m-bus protocol ?

thanks for the suggestion...but yes, the settings are correct...
I have a feeling the M-Bus is faulty???

I don't think those changers can work with anything('02 on down) that has Navigation save an X5... that's what i remember seeing in coutless websites....
