overall, i think their are a lot of good and bad about rl's kit. I put mine in about 2 months ago. unforturnately for me, my front right coil blew out in the first week and I was one of those people who just got mine put on at a shop to save me time. raceland did pretty good though, after some talking to racelend, they ended up paying for an overnight shipment for the replacement and paying the shop to put the new one in. Yes they are a little softer than the OEM but their are ways to go around that... also they are pretty good at achieving the look many of us are after... I am happy with them for how much they cost... it just depends on what you want....

I installed the fronts at my 318ci (i've done 40-50km) but i think they are more stiff than M tech suspension and also more stiff than my previous set up (sachs shocks & schnitzer springs)..
Iam thinking of getting them off because our roads here in Greece are really awful and I can't stand going over bumps and jumping up and down my seat.. In good quality roads they seem to be very good.. My opinion is that they handle very well and are a very good solution for someone who wants to play with the height, considering their cost.. I decided to give them a try because of the things I ve read here and their low cost.. (and because I wanted a bit more lowering than the schnitzer springs..) I want a lowered sport suspension but ride quality also counts for me.. So maybe I will try KWs street comfort next..

Has anyone had these for the long term, or the OP is the longest? I would like to see a long term review.

Can RL coils ride as high as OEM ZHP suspension?
Which size VM end links would I need?

I have been staying out of the threads. They aren't as bad as originally thought. Wouldn't be bad OE replacements, however they are one of the worst performing out there. I know. |

I found that I cannot keep the front shock on the hub. Seems as if, if i tighten it, it won't hold the shock to the hub and it can slide out... Any ideas?
I also found that the coilover sleeves/adjusters for the rear would not slide into the springs at all, the spring was too tight. So I had to shave a small corner off of the bottom coil a tiny bit, and now it fit... |

How far up the shock are you positioning the hub? Quote:
I just got my RL kit the other day. Haven't installed it yet. I also noticed that the rear adjusters wouldn't fit easily in. I'll probably be taking a small bit of the powdercoat off of mine too. |

I am positioning it up to where the lip is on the shock.
Yes that is correct the red powdercoated spring. I just trimmed a few mm off. |

Mine has this little stub that's roughly where I would think the hub needs to grip the shock. |

The bottom part of the shock is smaller in diameter for the first 2.5-3 inches. From there it tapes and gets fatter. That is where I would have the shock slide in up to on the hub sleeve.

just a fyi, use the oem nuts for the front struts. i used the ones provided by raceland and they didnt screw down enough and gave me a horrid clunk. now that i have the stock ones on, the car is solid and can go as low as id ever need to go.i may invest in new strut mounts for the rears though, mine are pretty shot.
