Hero GoPro Wide angle cam - review
First time at the track with my go pro. First, I got it from ebay for $140 which is about $40 less than I've seen. This is the newer wide angle version.
It comes with plenty of mounts. A suction cup mount and 5 or 6 different mounts with some 3M adhesive tape. You really have to get familiar with all of the mounting attachments. There are a lot of options, you just have to play with the different arms and attachments. During the weekend, I got my car up to 135mph and the camera never flew off. So the 3M and suction cup mounts are pretty secure. One tip, I would put some rainex on the casing if you use this in the rain so the rain drops won't obscure the camera. I also had a AAA battery charger that hooked up into my cig lighter along with an 8 MB SD card which, from my experience, will hold about 2 hours of video. NiMh AAA batteries will last about 1 hour on a full charge. Video quality is OK. Kind of sucks when the lighting is limited like on a cloudy day or when the road surface is black asphalt. The audio is pretty good especially in windy conditions when you use the low volume setting. Overall, I would def recommend for the casual track rat!
