Down payment for a M5!
So I went to a private dealer to check out a 2000 e39 M5 with 50k miles!!!! Going for 18k! When I got the it had brembo brake kit, acs exhaust, acs body kit, acs rims, Kw2 coilovers, led angel eyes, custom black with red insert interior! Just drop dead goregous.
So I had no choice but to leave a down payment so they can hold it till I get my money from the insurace! So what do you guys think worth the price and good upgrade? Anything I should check the car again?

M5 is a georgous car, show some pics when you get it. I probably would've spent the 18k on a lesser car that was newer, but so long as you have money set aside for maintenance you should be OK.

No I already got a deal with them on the warranty instead of the sticker price. They are going to get me warranty for 2 years or 28k miles with no deductibles and covers all the after market stuff will post pics right now. And they gave me the freecar fax report. Clean title

Maintenance on that car is going to eat you alive. Price is about right. Start saving some money for repairs. The M5 has some reliability issues that go way beyond the E46. I am happy for you though, they are a nice ride...if I had money, I would get me an 8 series, but again....$$$$$ to maintain.

no its missing both of them due to the fact that they were torn, they ordered new ones from the dealer at their cost. The one on the right is for the rear middle seat

The e39 M5 is actually super reliable if it has been maintained and not abused. Maintenance records and PPI are a must with this car and I would have a full ECU dump done to show Max Revs for the engine. 50K is right about where alot of things on the M5 tend to wear out. CPS(4 of them) and Mafs tend to go around 50k on average and brake jobs can be spendy. A Peak code reader should be your first purchase if you buy the car and then hop on m5board.com and show us pics. If is super clean and well taken care of 18K is OK. Lots of these cars going on the market....

It's definitely not my favorite color combo, but I do love the E39 M5s. Let us know how everything works out!

I had one and same year. About 85K I had to do the mafs. Then I put in a UUC clutch,ssk &lfw from frying the oem sac (Same clutch as a 530-540) (kind of a weak spot) Then the head gaskets kept failing.... But the main problem with that car is the engine and whats referred to the carbon scourge.. You can find many posts on the M5 Board.
All thogether an am///aizing car.. 18k Enjoy the **** out of the car and the pootang that will come along for the ride!!
