I like the look of this phone and personally I can not go with the garbage service of At&T in my area. I would like an iphone, but not if the service stinks which it does. And I really do like the full real qwerty keyboard.

like somebody said before...phones came out before with ultra mega super duper specs and fell short of even coming close to the iphone....before xxcosmicxx calls me a apple fanboy i will say that i will agree with many people on here that the iphone is definitely the best phone out there and the only phone i see being better is the next generation iphone

just preordered at BB... they guy that sold it to me had a the iphone and is replacing it with the droid. he was playing with the phone and basically said it is everything the iphone is plus flash on the net. he also said that google apps are behind in apps because apple had a couple years head start but that they are quickly growing. also that everything on the droid is customizable unlike the iphone unless jailbroken which effects the performance of the phone. i know the iphone fan boys are going to huff and puff about what this guy was saying but remember this info is coming from someone not paid commission on what he sells and is coming from an iphone. i'm not saying this phone is better than the iphone since its not out yet since all that is subjective depending on who you talk to but its got potential.

w/o apps iphone = nothing

But i have to give apple credit thats the ui is pretty sleek, and iphone just works w/o problems like windows mobile

well if thats the case does more apps mean its better? windows has more apps than mac, does that mean its better?

I want to switch my Curve in for something with a better browser, but I'm on Verizon.

Verizon has undoubtedly the best service of any carrier, but have no good phones. How is the iPhone ever going to switch to Verizon if Verizon doesn't use SIM cards?

The Droid looks tempting. I only have 2 weeks to trade in my Curve and get a different phone as part of the 2 year contract. Droid is $300 with a 2 year contract. If the navigation is as good as it says then that's like $150 knocked off the price right there.

IIRC, AT&T is still on contract till at least 2011... in that amount of time it wouldn't be hard to create a CDMA verson of the iPhone.

There have been rumors that Verizon will be making the switch to GSM, but those are just rumors.

That's if Verizon can swallow their pride. Idiots refused the iPhone when it first came out and have been playing catch up ever since. CDMA version should have been created when Apple offered them the iPhone.

Highly doubt the iPhone is ever coming to Verizon. Not anytime soon anyways. I'd rather just switch anyways. Having a SIM card is just that more convenient. Verizon would dominate the the cell phone market if they were GSM.

That would be an ENORMOUS undertaking... I find it hard to believe. I also don't see their incentive to do something like that.
