225 before 238 or so after. Wait....yeah close to 240whp after (if this is the same dyno you made 219 on, I'd say that magnaflow was worth a few ponies)

I'd be looking into real software to tune your car. Powerchip or AA...

I'd love to get the runfile from the "219" run to see what the corrections were.

I made 230rwhp with intake, cams, headers, no-cats, TSE3, and Conforti software. I expect something similar of this combination.

That was so long ago, I seriously doubt they have it. That was pre headers, too. That was TSE3, Conforti intake, pulleys, Dinan TB and Shark Injector on a

I dyno'd a bit more on a Mustang dyno with the headers.

Oh well, we'll see what she says this week. This will be a different dyno, but same model Dynojet. Going to LM Performance.

Z3 3.0 before and after cams. Pretty much the same mods as Pei330. Who are you using for software?

I've been down the drag strip a few times. It would not be an "apples to apples" comparison looking at my times though, as my car was extensively modified.

With the combination I mentioned above, I ran a best of 12.85 @ 105 MPH. (3.46 gears)

With a more heavily modified engine, and substantially heavier chassis I ran a best of 12.6 @ 104 MPH.

Are you sure that's before/after cams? I'm thinking that's an old dyno for before/after Technik gen 3 headers(which ill say is optimistic).

Brady, I'm guessing 228whp.

Well, I'm getting my work bench cleared off tonight and I'm going to double check the cams to make sure they're 100% clean. Trying to get my dyno done tomorrow night after work.

Okay, dyno session went okay. Pretty consistent. My email is screwy, so I can't post the file just yet. Best run was 220.52/216.63 SAE corrected. A/F looked really good.

I was a little disappointed at first because my previous dyno was 216/217, but the more I thought of it, that was a very different situation. Mods are different, as well as the actual dyno, temp, humidity, AND that was an uncorrected chart. Not to mention, I have about 70k more miles on the car now.

So, I have a good baseline and I got to see some sick cars (beautiful new ZR1).

I'll post the chart as soon as I can.

That is a very strong number, you will break 230rwhp easily with the cams.

Expect to be in the 13s in the 1/4 mile on street tires....

Thanks Adam, I was just hoping for a bit more. That being said, I'm just running a drop-in filter and I'm not running a header tune. I could probably squeeze out a few more with a good intake and some tuning. But, I'll wait and do those after the cams go in.

I'll email the runfile to you when I get to work. (You too, Greg)

Dyno: 2003 330Ci ZSP 126k miles, Sreamline filter, EvoSport pulleys, Shark Injector, Technik Gen3 headers w/ Swain coating, Magnaflow full catback:

Temp was about 71, humidity around 42%. VERY little cooldown between runs. Actually, he did 2and 3 back to back, then waited about 2 minutes to do the 4th run. (First run failed with traction control still on)

Dyno was in 4th gear.

Numbers were within 1hp uncorrected. Didn't expect that.

That seems like an impressive run, despite your slight disappointment...

How would one best convert that to a crank HP number? Is there a better way that using an arbitrary assumed drivetrain loss, say of 15-20%? I'm also guessing the loss would vary slightly depending on automatic versus manual transmission?

15% is the generally accepted # for the E46 manual, which puts him at 253hp at the crank.
