Question water pump replacement, please help!!!

Okay, I know there are a lot of threads on here about replacing water pumps but I canít find one on how to replace it on a 330ci 2002. If Iím going to replace the water pump what else do I need to replace while Iím in there and what tools will I need? I have a noise coming from under my hood that after multiple responses people say I need to replace the idler pulley and the tensioner. I donít know what these are and how to find them on my car to know if I need hydraulic tensioners or not. If anyone can point me in the right direction that would be great. I would like to do all the upgrades I can at one time with in this system because Iím sure the parts are the original. I know that I have to upgrade and Iím willing to do that but I just need some help on how and what to do it. This car is my dream car and I want it to last. Please help!!!

How many miles you've got should determine how much of your cooling system you change out. If you're approaching 100k I'd recommend changing it all.

if you are doing the water pump you should replace hoses and sensor and expansions tank. getbmwparts.com has a kit fro $300

the tensioner and pullies is also a upgrade kit to the hydraulic for around $150 add a couple of belts and you'll be set for the rest of the cars natural life. You'll spend about $500 but I bet you'll be saving more than $1000 over what the dealership would charge.

Thanks for the help. I went to the bmw330ci.net site for the water pump but they dont have directions for automatic trans. Does anyone know of a site I can use to remove a water pump for an auto trans?

water pump is the same regardless of the transmission. Autos just have a mechanical fan instead of an electric one that you have to remove from the water pump first. It takes a 32mm wrench and is reverse threaded.
