Borla Exhaust Question?

I have a borla cat back on my 2001 bmw 330ci, and I like the sound, but can I take out a resonator to make it louder? And If I do take out the resonator, will it be the same exhaust note as right now, only louder? Thanks you guys are the best!!

The note will change, resonators cancel out certain frequencies of sound so over the powerband you'll probably have a deeper idle and raspy sound at higher speed. I don't think you'll make it any louder. You'd need to change other parts of the exhaust system - you could consider adding headers to your car, that would make it louder while keeping relatively the same note.

actually there's a good chance you will get louder, deeper. well at least it worked for me. I only removed the smaller of the two and I definitely recommend trying that first. no rasp what so ever.

How much did it cost you? Also If I install the Dinan High Flow Intake System will it make any difference in the exhaust note?

Engine noise, not exhaust note. It just replaces the stock airbox which muffles the intake sound.

sorry, engine noise.

Remove a resonator. Just hang on to it just in case you want to put it back later.
