Ok. I disagree with the entire concept of this "one size fits all" email. People read drivel like this and hop on a bandwagon about an issue that is far from one size fits all. Since a big portion of this argument is about fraud or "undeserved" benefits, the email doesn't detail the MILLIONS of Joe Legals that also get paid under the table, evade taxes, etc. It's no secret that many of the guys on this board pay for work done to their cars in cash or pay a mechanic for a side job. Aftermarket automotive products and services is a multi-billion dollar industry and there are plenty of Joe Legals that profit from bodywork, installs, etc. without reporting their income.

If we're so concerned about the cost impact to the country, the argument needs to be broadened beyond an attack on illegals and address the various forms of fraud that are committed by citizens and illegals alike that truly put the burden on those of us that don't commit such fraud.

I am FIRST generation American and Hispanic and I do not support illegal immigration. My parents came here, with nothing, legally. They paid and continue to pay their taxes.


While I respect every hard working illegal immigrant for trying to make money for their families here in the US or back home... they are doing so ILLEGALLY. Period. The business owners and people trying to cut back on labor costs are what drive the huge amount of illegal immigrants that are willing to work.


The immigration process needs to be faster and more efficient... it needs to be easier for immigrants to come here, work, and pay taxes to to contribute back to the economy they are taking money from.

And I don't want to hear "immigrants are taking our jobs." Immigration is what started this fvcking country, and the reason we became the greatest and most culturally and racially diversified nation on the planet. And I know half of you lazy fvcks wouldn't dare mow a lawn or serve burgers for minimum wage, so unless you are willing to step up and do some actual labor, shut the fvck up.

The 16th Amendment states in its entirety, "The Congress shall have power to lay and collect taxes on incomes, from whatever source derived, without apportionment among the several states, and without regard to any census or enumeration."

However, it was never ratified. No documents in the Library of Congress, archives, and States to prove the ratification.

Are you familiar with supply v. demand.

Were illegals not willing to do a given task for far below the market average, the employer (burger joint, greenskeeper, whatever) would have to pay a higher wage. Kick out all the illegals and you do have more jobs. It's that simple. As for lazy americans not willing to take them, that is their own d@mn fault and a downside to this "education for everyone mentality". We give kids free educations that they are required to participate in and we tell them, in doing so, that those jobs are below them. I was fortunate enough to grow up with a phenomenal education. It was an opportunity provided by the hard work my family (parents and grandparents). BUT, at no point, did I see a job like that as below me. I cut my family's lawn till I was 16, worked as a coffee barista throughout high school, and worked part time all throughout college. Do you know what the difference was between me and those lazy americans you speak of??? It's parenting.

Remove illegals and more jobs become available. Jobs remain open at burger places because the wages are too low, employer raises wages to accommodate. Parents teach their kids the meaning of hard work, you have people that will take the job regardless of what some idiots think about its lack of prestige.

Sorry man but I really don't buy into the argument of "if illegals left the country, who would mow the lawns"... come on now.. economics 101 tells us somebody would and, if the prices were too low, the grass would get high enough that the market would pay more for the service.

As for your "faster immigration policy", do you suggest that you just come across the boarder, swipe your fingerprint, become a citizen, and start paying taxes? The problem in your argument lie in the fact that the country was FOUNDED (Ie built) by those of all backgrounds. They came with nothing to the land of opportunity and THEY WERE GIVEN NOTHING except freedom from religious persecution. Now, the country has been built and we are the LAND OF HANDOUTS. Oh come across the boarder, don't contribute, and we'll give you all this awesome stuff (roads, police, hospitals, etc).

There are literally thousands of individuals trying to legally get into this country and, just because you sympathize with the hispanic immigrant, you are willing to put all of them second to those who have broken the law? No way jose.

As for the original topic at hand, unemployment is at its highest in 3 decades and you are going to argue that there would not be more jobs available were illegals kicked out of the country?
