We faired better than the Giants.

I think we will have them next game... all they did was 8 in the box all game... Garrett will think of something to counter that.

We just need coverage on Jackson, and we definitely can't let McCoy run up the middle like we did in the fourth quarter.

Vick was getting MANHANDLED.

We won 3 out of 5 under Garrett, and our 2 losses were to the better of teams - and they were VERY close games.

We are looking good, anyone who says otherwise is blind. Give us a QB (Hopefully Romo... but I wouldn't mind someone like Andrew Luck in the position teaming up with Dez Bryant,) a franchise RB... and 2011 is going to be THE year.

Meh...it was one of those games that the score didn't really reflect the game.

Dallas needs a QB and Kitna ain't it, look at his passing % with throws over 20 yards, then check Romo's.

True, it wasn't a true-2-form Vick game, and trust me when I say I am no fan of his outside of football, but name me another QB who can make a 60 yard pass look like a toss in the backyard?

Or anybody that can cover DeSean Jackson?

#1 vote getter(?) for the Pro Bowl....neat lil story.

Romo is and will be Dallas' QB for a while. He is amazing, I don't care what anyone says. He is one of the best QBs in the NFL.

As far as Kitna... he is more of a leader than Romo was... he gets his guys pumped. He's not afraid to take a hit or rush for first down. He's a veteran.

Look at his stats this season vs Romo's this season... he isn't far off.

Kitna isn't and never will be on Romo's level... but he is a GOOD quarterback. Just not as good as Romo. Romo is in his prime (he's 30)... but he is good enough to bring Dallas to the Superbowl. The problem is not with our QBs but our lack of Wide Receivers (Des Bryant is out, Ogletree is out, Miles Austin isn't performing like he should be,) a consistent RB (Barber out, Felix/Choice tandem is suspect,) and we have no passing defense.

We can run all we want all day with Kitna throwing decent passes... but if we get eight in the box'd like we did vs the Eagles... Kitna can't pick up the slack in passing - our running game has been our biggest strength in the past 5 games. Stop that, and we're pretty much just asking to get picked and turn over every possession.

If we had Romo, passing yardage would easily be above 250, maybe even in the 300s... every game. Saints and Eagles games would have went differently.

With all the injuries the Dallas defense is about as solid as swiss cheese. Glad they won but seriously, it should never have gotten to be a close game.

On my fantasy FB team I was in a bind for QB. Aaron Rodgers was benched. I dropped my back up QB Ornton (also out with ribs issue) and picked up Kitna. I had a good feeling about his style vs. the Skins D. He neted me 30 pts!

Heartbreaker if you're a cowboys fan...good game to watch though.

Jerry Jones needs to take a backseat.

I didn't get to watch, no NFL Network... but damn. Buehler is too inconsistent. He'll make amazing FG's and then miss ones like yesterdays...

So, Garrett is the man. I'm not sure what I think about this yet. But Jones did make a good point in an interview when he noted that no coach in NFL history, having won a Superbowl with one team, ever went to another team to steer them to a Superbowl victory.

Good luck to the Cowboys in 2011!

Are you talking about when Garrett actually played for the Cowboys?

No. I'm talking about the official head coach of the Dallas Cowboys.

^ I don't understand this part though. Who won a Superbowl with one team and is going on to steer another team?

Jerry was alluding to the other potential hires out there w. rings--i.e. Gruden, Cowher.

Gotcha... I knew JG would be head coach. He's young and the team definitely stepped up when he was put in Philip's position.

How do you guys feel about this article?

Either way... 2011 is going to be a hell of a season for the Cowboys IMO... when Romo and Des Bryant come back with the Cowboys actually running the ball... they will be tough.

Everybody's got an opinion. But Phillips WAS the head coach and, as such, directs his offensive and defensive coaches. Thus, Phillips was the man responsible. Correct? Using the logic of the author, the entire staff and team should be fired (except Phillps) which makes no sense at all.

Nice.

Emmitt Smith is my all time favorite... there will never be another like him. He did what the Cowboys need Barber, Jones, and Choice to do as a trio.

Thats a sweet keepsake. I met Dorsett when I was ... like 10 and living in Dallas. He was the man back in the day.
