Does an AR upper assembly require an FFL for shipping?

Or can it be shippped directly to me? A complete upper - barrel, receiver, BCG, etc..

It can be shipped directly to you. Only the lower needs to be shipped to FFL since that is technically the "gun."

I would note any special shipping instructions (like not leaving it on your front porch) or requiring signature for receipt when you order.
