I have a 2001 bmw 330ci and I'd like to get my sirius radio hooked up while maintaining the clean stock look. I found a radio on kijiji for only 75$ bucks, won't last long.. its from a 2006 E46 and the seller says it is mp3 and ipod compatible.. will this work with my car and a sirius adaptor? thanks for your help!

yes.

Sirius Sat Radio works on all year alpine radios after 3/2003!

Thank you! I see a lot of *214 on ebay, so they are not MP3-capable.... And all other MP3-capable CD53 on ebay are *429 and *430, no *215....
Actually, looking at prices of those MP3 CD53 I am thinking about Dynavin. You can get it for 699 which is just twice more expensive than mp3 cd53....

I have a 6/2000 330ci with a broken cd radio. If I picked one of these newer radios up is it a plug and play deal or are my connectors different? The ETK shows different radios before and after 09/2001 so I don't want to get stuck with something I can't use. Thanks in advance!

I wonder if these get installed stateside as they would have to be specific for the country they are in? I need to double check when I get home, but my 04 which has a 12/03 build date has a radio from way later like 5/4.

Is it possible to jump folders when playing a MP3 CD? If yes, how? I only seem to be able to skip song by song

Thanks but I figured it out. Pressing the < and/or > buttons only skips to the previous/next song.

To go to the next folder you have to press the "m" button. Then if you press the < and/or > button you will jump back/forward between folders.

When in this mode, the display will say "MAN" and then go back to "CD" after a few seconds if you don't press anything.

CD43 n CD53

'ave seen some Blaupuknt CD53 and was wondering if the internals are the same as the CD43.. coz it seems like the only difference is the faceplate. Anyone got insight on this.

If you were to read the FIRST post in this thread, you would notice that they are in fact not the same at all and that you should avoid buying one all together. I don't mean to be a dick but really?

No, you are.. I was asking about the blaupunkt (1998 - 2001) not the Alpines, and I don't see anywhere mentioned CD43.

Blaupunkt CD43 radios were for the later years E36 after 1997 and also the E36 Z3 and Range Rovers thru 2003/2004.

Blaukpunkt CD radios in any BMW 3 series after 1998 are ALL CD53. Basically if you have a E46 it can only have a CD53 Blaupunkt CD radio.

This is a CD43 Radio:

Sorry To Revive an old tread, but I have a 2004 325xi and the radio just died, is the 65.12-6 961 215 a direct swap, no mods required? BTW, very interested in doing a Navi swap on this car, you stated that you loose the MP3 data cd capability is that just behind the head unit and not for the cd changer or totally?

Thanks for the info Delmarco & Guys!!

Yes, it is a direct swap, since you already have Alpine radio (not Blaupunkt).
