My cat Brownie (right), a bit more in her prime...
She's 17 now.

She's been ill for a couple months now. She can't keep food down and she's lost a lot of weight. Barely a shadow of her former self.

I've made the appointment to have her euthanized tomorrow morning. I'm going to miss her.

Her litter-mate Maxx (left) will miss her as well.

Its hard, to have to do that. But it's better to do before they suffer.

Great Pyrenees - 3.5 months old. Just got him yesterday. "Hank the Tank" seems to be the name of choice right now. We've been looking for a Pyrenees for a while now and were signed up to get one 5 hours away this January for $500. My wife saw an ad in the paper where a local couple had to get rid of 5 of these pups - so we swung by and picked one up on the spot for $100. It was funny - 3 of the pups were pure Pyrenees and 2 were half Pyrenees, half border collie. The border collie ones were shaped like a pyrenees, but colored like a collie and super hyper. I'd hate to have a 130 lb dog that spazzed out like a collie.

We wanted a dog that was mellow and that would patrol the property to keep family and animals safe from coyotes and cougar and 2 legged intruders. These were originally bred to guard flocks of sheep out in the field. They prefer to sleep outside, even when it's freezing, and are mostly nocturnal. They're also huge. Our 3.5 month old pup is about the size of a medium mature golden retriever - and his paws an wrists are massive. Amazingly sweet, mellow and gentle.
