Question About Transmission?

Hey everybody. Just bought an '04 325i black/black and am in love with it. Now, i have a quick question.. I have had the car up on a lift and have seen a "seeping" from the transmission pan. Not a leak, like i won't see any drops under the car even overnight or from heavy driving, but there is definitely the seeping from the gasket. So obviously, i will eventually get a new gasket / filter and do the whole job, but for now, I was wondering. How can i know my fluid level. Is there a sensor for this that will trigger a light on my dash? it shifts perfectly smooth so it prob isnt too much of an issue but i personally dont like the 4k gamble lol. so i guess my question is just to buy some time, if there is no light can i rest assured for a week or two?
