q-tires retractable studs tires?

http://www.qtires.com/

Anyone heard of this? Winter is approaching. When it snows here it snows hard! but being in the city, the clear the road quite fast, so most of the time there is no need for snow tires. The retractable studs seems perfect for this. Anyone tried this? pros and cons?
