i'm surprised to hear people prefer the mercedes for "comfort" you can clearly see in the interior shot how much more plush and adjustable the 5'er seats are(they have the mid point back adjustment)

my mom is a long time loyal e-class owner and they've never been impressive cars.. so awkward and full of fail.

and the styling of the 5'er is win in every way, it rescued the whole series in my opinion (the e60 was among the ugliest cars ever made by bmw)

the new e class is nasty, literally those tail lights are something you would find on a kia very disappointing on benzs part. the front isnt bad though

e60 was ugly except with m-sport kit. This new one is leaps and bounds better than its predecessor, especially the tail lights. It looks more aggressive and has better interior and exterior styling cues over the E-class.

5er wins. But I still do not like the front end as much as the e60...the angle looks off for some reason. But maybe an M bumper can fix that

My Ride: What work gives me!
mm not a massive fan of the 5er... the 5 series was always the stand out of the BMW range now it justs looks like a larger E92 thats been left in the sun and melted a little. I have driven the new e series and it is perfection! The 5 series will have to scrap or fix that active steering to even come close to the performance and feel of the e series

the benz needs bigger rims which kills the side profile.

The front and the rear: benz
Side and interior: BMW.

I hate the new 5 series front. The rear looks a little better on the 5er and the interior looks lots better on the BMW.

I would take the 5er, but in the Mercs defense it is wearing the worst color for the comparison, and small standard looking wheels.

Well I originally hated the e60, but then grew on me so much that I decided it would replace my e46....I did a ton of mods and I think it looks a million times better than stock....with that being said, as soon as my lease is up, I'm getting the new 5. It has great tuning potential!

The new 5 series is very nice .. Love it, I'd choose 5 series if it just for the exterior design.

but for overall, I'd take W212.
