As I mentioned before, This work takes alot of more time that I first thought.

And I also sold my stock head, But I want as much as possible to be intact while working with the ITB's, So I wont get into any clearence issues later. I hope that I can start working on the plenum next Wednesday when I get home from work.

When I'm done with everything that has to do with the intake system, I'll start getting the engine out of the car.
Keep up the great work.

It always took me at least 4 times the amount of time that I thought it would for custom work. If you don't feel like working on something, don't. That's the best advice I think I can give at this point. You need to be in a positive frame of mind to get great results.

Did you make a final decision on the machine shop?

I'll need to try not to rush everything, And this isnt all about the car, I'm always in a hurry.. I need to learn that working on things takes time.

So why do the stock pistons have asymmetrical skirts? Any pictures of the stock heads next to the ported ones?

Very cool thread!

The stock pistons skirt looks the way it does becouse of the oilsquirters.
I need to do this to the ones from CP as well. Just need to have my block machined for 84.5mm bore so I can measure how much I need to take of from the skirts.

Sorre, On the stock head ports I only have pictures taken with a cell phone camera...

Crap...I could have measured the notch we cut on my pistons for you! Perhaps the photos of my pistons from the My330i.com thread could help you? Let me know if you need me to do some digging on that.

PS. You get any sleep last night or what?!!! LOL

Haha, I had at least a couple of hours of sleep in front of the TV and Discovery Channel.

I should be able to measure how much to take of from the pistons by doing some measurements on the stock pistons and oilsquirters.

He's also running a more wild camshaft that will reduce the dynamic compression ratio.

This is actually the first time I own a "real camera" and started to learn how to use it for like one month ago. It's actually pretty fun to do when the results gets OK.
