Insurance cost of M3

Hey guys, I came up with nothing by searching so here it goes..

I am 23, with 5 years driving record, no tickets, no points, and AAA quoted me 3800 for 12 months to insure an '05 M3 under my own name. can you M3 fanatics list your

1. age
2. ticket history
3. insurance company
4. cost
5. coverage

so that I can get a general idea of what the annual cost of insuring an M3 is?

thank you so much, much appreciated.

A lot of insurance cost is based on where you live. I happen to live in one of the areas that is the absolute cheapest to have insurance in.

My Ride: looking for an ///M3
hoonpv... i am in the same spot you are in, that is, figuring out the cost of insuring an m3 on my own policy. however, you will need to find someone within your area to compare the rates because, as i am sure you know, rates vary drastically among differing regions of the country. i live in jersey, which has some of the highest rates in the country. i believe that theOSUbob's rate is so low because: #1 he is 25, which is the magical age at which insurance companies deem young drivers "grown up" enough to not be reckless, #2 he lives in Ohio, which has lower rates due to less dense population than say new jersey, or in your case, so cal.
just something to keep in mind. i have been looking for insurance for an e46 m3 and have found the progressive website to be very good in determining an estimated payment per month. if you go to their site you can plug in your info and get a quote within the time it takes to fill out some bio information along with your desired amount of coverage.
good luck

Where you live is a big factor in the cost.

I knew this going in but I still got quoted a lot so I ended up coming to Fanatics for some opinions..

I live in one of the nicer areas in southern california, rancho palos verdes, and i couldn't understand why they quoted me so much.. usually their rates are pretty competitive you know?

and i don't want to leave AAA because their service is awesome

FWIW: Just because the zipcode is a "nice area" doesn't mean that there aren't a lot of claims that come from there.

There are a lot more variables to the equation, location, martial status, home owner, # of cars, student discounts, and one of the most important variables, CREDIT SCORE.

a lot of it seems to be with where you live.

In San Francisco, I paid 205.
Moved to Santa Clara, switched to 152.

In SF, I only commuted by car one day a week (public transport the rest). In Santa Clara, I commute every day, although its a shorter distance.

It is very true that where you live is going to play a big factor on how much you pay for insurance. I have seen rates double or triple just from moving to a different city.

If you guys need online quotes from all the top insurance companies online then just fill out this simple form to see if you can save some money while still getting the great service that you expect. https://quotewarzins.agentinsure.com...ite/quote.aspx
