Just wrote an article on that car for Bimmer Mag - the hood is not only functional, but it's completely 100% necessary to dissipate the heat from the massive turbo under the hood. It puts out about 450hp at the wheels and they're about to do meth/injection and some other neat mods to try to get it up to 550. We had it out at Lime Rock and It is very, very quick.

Oh, no doubt it's very functional, I just don't care for it aesthetically.

I'm a bit of a purist myself... However, it's a one of a kind hand made carbon fiber hood and despite being a bit over the top, in person it's very easy to appreciate.
